Sieghart Böhme
In his thoroughly elaborated pictures the artist attends to ecological issues, architectural aberrations and misspellings. Nosehogs [zool.= nasypodida bohemiensis] observe cows or brush with disasters. Every once in a while the ancient mythology is captured. Time after time Böhme succeeds in deliberately obscuring entire tales in his works to sound out the beholder's versatility.
Böhme's reflections on the art of comic happen as a record of an observation of a picture's decay chain. The decay of a picture did not just start with Jackson Pollock or Wols in Europe. There is a corresponding meeting point in Takashi Murakamis' art (super flat). Böhme rather orientates on the origin of the comic – such as Wilhelm Busch.
Sieghart Böhme has been the chairman of the Estenfeld Art Association for several years. He caught attention with creativity events and speeches in various schools in Würzburg. The Main-Post, the regional daily paper in Würzburg, published many articels, including some full-page articles, about his artistical activities wich need to be understood complexly.
Sieghart Böhme lives and works in Würzburg.
